Wadesboro hosts several special festivals during the year, sponsored by the Town, Uptown Wadesboro, the Chamber of Commerce and other entities. These may include an egg hunt for children in uptown Wadesboro in the spring; and "Jams" held during the summer months where streets are blocked off and people bring lawn chairs and visit with friends while enjoying live band music.

Many activities take place in the fall, starting with the annual Homecoming Parade; Fall Festival costume contest and street party for children; and the annual Christmas Parade that kicks off the holiday season.
