The Town of Wadesboro’s leaf truck is having to have some repairs made and will be out of service until it is repaired. No leaves or limbs will be picked up during this time. Check the website to see when the truck is back in service. The Town is sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Anson County Farmers' Market on Hwy 52-S is open Wednesdays & Saturdays from 7 a.m.-1 p.m.

June 13: A free session on Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse will be held at the Grace Senior Center at 10 a.m.

June 19: The Anson County Arts Council presents the first of the summer Bach Lunch series with entertainment by Emily Litaker Privette at the First Presbyterian Church from noon to 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 or $25 for all three lunches (June 19, July 17, August 21) and are available at Lacy's and the ACAC. For more information, call 704.694.4950.

June 24: The Anson County Writers Club and the H.B. Allen Library will show the documentary, "Bathanti" at the Little Theater. Admission is free. Bathanti is the author of "Anson County" and other literary works.

Sept. 27-28: Anson Ag Expo and Fair at the Lockhart-Taylor Center; beginning at 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. Exhibits, livestock show, lumberjack sports demonstration and more. All events free.

Weekly Meetings:

The Wadesboro Rotary Club meets on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. at Welika Lake Fish Camp.

The Wadesboro Civitan Club meets Fridays at noon at the Scout Hut.
